PHASE 2: TRANSFORMATION

The picture shown below is the time that we were having our first meeting for the phase 2 of transformation. This meeting is on May 3 2019 and it took us about 30 minutes from 12.30pm to discuss what we were going to do for the next step.

On 9 May 2019, I was incharged of tracing numbers and animals on autocad that are required for our design and to be sent to 3D Printing. It took me 3 hours and 30 minutes to finish tracing the numbers and animals. The picture shown below is the numbers and animals on autocad.

On 14 May 2019, we went to 3D Printing Lab at Taylor's to print the numbers and animals and discuss with the lecturer about our design idea. We stayed at the lab 2 hours for the printing.

We went to the printing room again on 24 May at 12 noon to discuss what else we wanted to print and what colour we need and it took us about 1 and a half hours.

The picture shown below is some part of the games have been finished printing.

On Tuesday 28 May 2019, we went to the printing room again to order the rest that we are going to print. We went there at 12 noon and after we finished ordering, we went to the laser cut room to laser cut the snake that have to be putting on our game. The whole process took us 2 hours.

The picture shown below is the lecturer was showing the parts that have finished printing.

Parisa was discussing the color that has to be used in the game with David

We were checking the numbers that are finished printing

After that, we went to the laser cut room to laser cut the snakes. Since 4 of us didn't know how to use the machine, we asked our classmate, Alifa to teach us to use.

When the machine starts working, we went and see how it works.

These are the snakes done

On Thursday at 10 a.m. Parisa and David went to the printing room to take some finished parts of the game and the discussion took 30 minutes.

After that, we went to Art Friend after class at 12.30 noon to buy 5 pieces of A1 MDF boards that are going to hold all the cubes onto it and it took us about 1 hour.

On 10 June 2019 at 2 pm, we started to paint the board and stick two of the snakes with acrylic glue and the whole process took us 4 hours.

On 11 June, me and my groupmates stayed back at campus to stick the rest of the animals and numbers onto the board. Picture shown below is one of my temmates, Tisya, pasting the dice for the game.

Meanwhile, i was pasting the boxes together with the rest of my teammates who are David and Parisa and the process took us 3 hours.

On 12 June 2019, all of us came to campus at 10am to continue the next steps such as laser cut the numbers and we went to workshop to cut the wood to be installed onto the board and it took us 6 hours there. Picture shown below are the processes we installing and cut the wood under guidance of Mr. Fendi.

On Saturday 15 June 2019, some of the students went to the place and start installing the game and decorate the library.

This is the group picture of Fun Learning Aid group but imcomplete since some of us couldn't get to the place.

Throughout this project, I have learnt to care more about the community and give them as much as warm as we can. The process of making the game and decorate the library is tiring but it is fun by the way especially we see the smile on the face on the children and we know that everything we have done is worth it! I do hope there's more activities like this so that to deliver more help to the community.
